Rod Stewart at his best
We have witnessed Rod nearly every year for the past 20 years or so, and his Vegas opening night has to be the most remarkable. His voice was stellar, and he delivered as the exceptional showman we anticipate. The audience was allowed to capture photos from a very close distance, and Rod's response was outstanding. He engaged with the audience by shaking hands with numerous fans - unfortunately, we were not near enough for that. Can you picture Health & Safety regulations permitting a star of his caliber to be in such proximity to the audience over here?
The organisers should be commended for effectively managing expectations, enabling those who traveled far to get up close and employing sensible security measures. Security personnel simply directed people back to their seats, and everyone complied. Unlikely to see such cooperation at Wembley!!!
